Catherine Spooner is a dedicated volunteer for the Serving Country project. This exhibition honors the contribution by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women to the Australian Defence Force.
Catherine Spooner is a career public servant having worked for the Department of Defence (Army) and currently the Department of Veterans’ Affairs in service delivery and indigenous affairs. Catherine has a lived experience as the service wife of a veteran of the Royal Australian Navy, and is an active member and on the board of Directors of the National Defence Shed.
Catherine has a particular interest in ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander servicemen and women and their families are properly recognised and acknowledged for their commitment and service to this nation, and to educate the general population of our shared and rich military service.
